Great video…

NEW YORK (September 27, 2007) – NHL stars Joe Thornton of the San Jose Sharks, Jarome Iginla of the Calgary Flames, Martin St. Louis of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Roberto Luongo of the Vancouver Canucks and Dany Heatley of the Ottawa Senators are featured in a new national TV spot promoting NHL Center Ice®, the NHL’s out-of-market subscription package, and the HD games available in the package. The ad will run on cable systems’ digital information channels and during the NHL Center Ice free previews from Sept. 29 – Oct. 9 in the United States and from Oct. 3 – Oct. 9 in Canada.

In the 30-second ad, NHL players are seen grooming and obsessing over their appearance in anticipation of the clarity and high-resolution picture of HD game broadcasts available on NHL Center Ice. In the promo, Heatley enjoys a mud mask facial, St. Louis climbs into a tanning bed, Thornton scrutinizes his figure in the mirror, a hair stylist tends to Luongo’s hair and Iginla plucks his eyebrows. The spot also details the features, benefits and ordering instructions for NHL Center Ice.

Love to take advantage of this Paul, as I have in past years.  However at this point the people at WOW (Wide Open West) which I have my cable/internet/phone through right now are apparently “in negotiations” and not yet decided regarding whether any of the areas WOW supports will carry Center Ice.  This is staight from one of the sale line’s manager’s mouth.

Needless to say I’m not happy...any others being affected by this?  I’d love to hear what any of you have found out.

Currently exploring other cable providers in our area to see if they’ll be carrying Center Ice, and/or possibly looking into Center Ice Online (although we’d rather that be a last resort).

I know here in Central Ohio we are experiencing the same “negotiations” with Time Warner.

If these clowns don’t get their act together I may soon be finding a new provider - Direct TV here I come.

I got the same line from Time Warner here in Raleigh.  For crying out lout, the season starts in two days.  Do these “negotiations” mean we won’t have the “free preview” available?

I’m going to tear my hair out and start screaming if I don’t get some answers soon!

My understanding is their will be no issues with Time Warner.
Just give it a little more time and some of thses companies may just have realized the season starts Saturday, not early October like previous years.

I’d love to give them time...but the gist I got from the manager guy at WOW was basically that if they hadn’t sewn things up yet, that it was very unlikely that they would end up carrying it.  He didn’t want to give me any “false hope” by stringing me along.  Which I respect...but it still sucks…

Instead of tearing my hair out, I went out and subscribed to dish network.  The downside is that I can’t get it installed until Tuesday -and I can’t order center ice until I verify that I can get the appropriate channel.  Don’t know what is up with that. Seems like if they offer the package to their subscribers, the appropriate channel should be a given.  It’s a change I’ve been contemplating for some time.  It might be a good thing that this happened to move me along.

The upside is, if Time Warner gets things worked out by Saturday, I should be able to get the free preview to keep me in the loop.  If not, I’ll be knocking on people’s doors to watch their Direct TV or Dish Network as the case may be.  Gack!

N4P, not sure if you are aware of the ongoing discussion going on in the KK Forum about this topic too…

Just got off the phone with wow--the rep stated that they will not be offering the center ice package this year because the nhl demanded that they also carry the nhl network.
