from the Boston Herald,
Bruins captain Zdeno Chara was hospitalized for dehydration last night, two sources told the Herald, and as of this moment is still being evaluated by the Bruins’ medical staff.
Presented with the information, team spokesman Matt Chmura confirmed that Chara was hospitalized last night. Chmura would not speculate on Chara’s availability for tonight’s Game 2 against the Montreal Canadiens.

Seeing the Bruin’s struggles in game one were totally offense related, this is a situation they can handle, should Chara not be able to play. Granted, Chara’s booming shot from the point would be missed; but Boston just needs to create stress in front of Price more than anything, and that’s not an area Chara is concerned with.
In fact, this could be a blessing in disguise. Give Chara a game or two off, and ready him for the next round (assuming they get there).
A player like Chara is not needed against a team like Montreal, as much as he would be needed against teams like the Rangers or Flyers. Montreal is not a physical team, and look totally out-of-sorts when they try to play like one. Boston will beat Montreal by winning the battles below the hash-marks in the offensive zone.
You don’t need a monster like Chara to take care of a leprechaun like Gionta in the defensive zone.
