Don and Barry liked the play of Pitsburgh last night.
Watch below and note, the video is a bit choppy at times…

I’m wondering how Don Cherry got hold of all the stuff I cleaned out of my closet for Goodwill.
I had a strappy summer sundress once that was that identical plaid.

Kevin - what game were you watching??? Roberts blowing up Lilja led directly to the game wining goal by Hall.
The Wings dominated?? The game was back and forth, with the Wings starting out strong, and the Pens seizing control hafway through the first and into the third, when Detroit started to really go after the tying goal. They hit the post ONCE, just like the Pens did when Hossa rung the post in the first.
That was hockey at its finest, with both the Wings and Pens playing exceptional games. You have no idea what youre talking about - so either youre a 1) Wings homer, or 2) the usual Boston know nothing jack a** - Id guess the latter.

Yeah...like Pittsburgh knows something about hockey? How many times have they threatened to leave town...? The Penguins formula is pretty simple....sux for 10 years and get a hundred top draft picks...Then have a couple good years...and then suxed for 10 more years to rebuild. The Pens will sux soon enuf...As for the game, put the Pens pom-poms down. Detroit out shot the Pens 16-5 in the 3rd period and would have won if Osgood hadn’t put one in his own net. Plus the Wings had a goal called back. Roberts is so good they don’t even play him...he played 6 or 7 minutes. Most of the time he just cheap shots people and looks stupid out there. But hey...keep cheering for Hal Gill and the rest of them but its not going to happen this year for the Pens.

“Yeah...like Pittsburgh knows something about hockey? How many times have they threatened to leave town...? The Penguins formula is pretty simple....sux for 10 years and get a hundred top draft picks”
You know nothing about the financial circumstances that surrounded them possibly leaving town. If you’d like I can point you to some reading that will help explain the political/economic factors in both Pittsburgh and at the state level that prevented them from getting a new arena for so long, but I am guessing you have no interest, since youre a cretin and like to write nonsense on internet sites.
As for “sucking for 10 years”, every sports league rewards the teams with the worst records with high picks. Thank you for pointing out this obvious, basic fact, which is irrelevant to anything. Let alone the fact that the Pens won two Cups in the 90s, and the Bruins havent won one since 72. On the bright side, in four years, you get to celebrate 40 years of mediocrity and failure!
The Wings had the better of the second half of the third period, no doubt. The goal was called back because the net was dislodged a good 5 seconds before the puck went in. This is yet another basic fact that seems to escape you.
Osgood didnt “put it in his own net” - Hall very obviously intentionally tried to bank it off of his legs. This happens all the time, but you don’t know sht about hockey, so I am not surprised you didnt realize it.
Roberts plays for his hitting and his leadership, and his timely ability to make big plays. Hes not expected to carry the team, but hes precisely the type of role player which cup winning teams need. Your inability to recognize this just shows your ignorance. And you still havent addressed the fact that his hit led directly to the game winning goal. BUT HE SUX LOL HE DOESNT EVEN PLAY!!!
Youre practually illiterate Kev, so stop posting. Youre just embarassing yourself.

Wow, I love it when it gets personal.
Kevin, your arguments are ridiculous (you sound suspiciously like FlyersFan). First, Pit didn’t suck for 10 years, but 3 maybe 4, and I would argue it was entirely economically based, not as in Toronto, Boston or with the Rangers, among others.
Roberts did his job well last night. Nothing more or less.
The goal “called back” was obviously the correct call based on the rules of the game (and I’m one that thinks that when the net is knocked off, intentionally or unintentionally by the defensive team, the goal should count-but them’s not the rules - and in this case, it was actually knocked off by a Detroit player).
The statement about people in Pittsburgh not knowing hockey is ridiculous..I’m sure many don’t but many do, too. I watch football (sometimes) but don’t know squat about it, despite the fact my father-in-law played for the Bears. Does that mean I shouldn’t watch it or root for the Eagles?
Two homegrown players were against each other in the last series, if you paid attention (Malone and Umberger, since I doubt you did). There must therefore be a decent culture of youth hockey in Pittsburgh, which is a good indicator of the status of hockey in an area. Living in Philly where similar attacks are common, I like to ask how many locals are represented in the NHL. I guess the one and only is Eaton? Obviously Boston has been well represented in the NHL, but does everyone in Boston know hockey? I know firsthand the answer is no.
It was a good, entertaining game. Each team had their chances and controlled play for extended amounts of time. I hope the rest of the games are half as entertaining.

When a puck goes in off the goalie’s rear end that is a BAD goal. Adam Hall is no Gretzky. It was either luck or bad goaltending take your pick....The difference between the Bruins and the Pens is that the B’s stink for one year and then get competitive pretty quick. The Pens stink for 4 or 5 years. But hey that formula does work..I just fail to be impressed by it....Roberts is a cheap shot artist. That is a well documented fact. Some call it “leadership” I guess...I actually hope the Pens can win a couple games. I like watching hockey. But they are outclassed by the Wings...As for Pitt vs Boston hockey talent/knowledge..you’ve got to be kidding. Pitt has two players. Boston has hundreds including the guy that won you two Cups...Barrasso

...and as for me being illiterate...you need to check some of your spelling because it’s terrible.

What game was he watching? Roberts? He didn’t do sheet out there....he threw a couple hits that’s it. Malkin, Crosby and Hossa finally showed up. That’s what happened. Detroit still dominated the game. They got one goal called back and hit the post about 5 times. Completely outshot the Pens. It doesn’t look good for the Penguins.
