Chicago Is A Forsberg Type Team

from Steve Rosenbloom of RosenBlog,
I don’t know how much money the Hawks have under the salary cap, nor do I know whether general manager Stan Bowman wants to do the seemingly annual Forsberg fox trot, but it’s at least worth discussing for this team right now....
Perhaps the Hawks aren’t interested in the risk of an oft-injured player, but I believe they are a team Forsberg would like to consider because they have a familiar face behind the bench and play an Avalanche-type uptempo style, and they are a contender. That’s an important factor. Forsberg isn’t going to come back to play for Carolina or Toronto.

Then LOOK IT UP, for Pete’s sake! That’s what I do when I wonder if a player will fit on a particular team.
What a useless waste of carbon.

I laughed so hard when I first read those.
It’s because they’re both so right and very obvious. Just look it up. It’s not like you have to break into the Pentagon’s mainframe to access the information, it’s all over the net.

Who cares how much cap room they have?
Forsberg would have to slip by 21 other teams before he got to the blackhawks on the old waiver list. Not gonna happen.

Except that the NHL has already stated that Forsberg wouldn’t have to clear waivers, so what exactly is your point, shanetx?
I find it hard to believe that a guy who writes for a major metro newspaper couldn’t locate the time or resources to determine if the Hawks have the cap room for Forsberg. That’s a new level of lazy right there.

Ahhh. I wasn’t aware of that. Mea Culpa.
What was the reasoning on Forsberg’s non-waiver-requiring status?
