Chicago Poised To Make A Run At The Wings

from Hawkey Challenge,
Winners of three straight and four of their last five games, the Hawks are at last an NHL team to be reckoned with.
Chicago’s success has largely been due to the aggressive philosophy of General Manager Dale Tallon to land hockey talent in the Windy City, as well as Joel Quenneville’s success since taking over the job behind the bench….
Detroit lost tonight, 3-1 to Dallas, so the Hawks are just seven points back of the Red Wings now with a game in hand….
The excitement continues, as the Hawks not only remain poised to finally return to the playoffs, but also look to give Detroit a serious push for the top spot in the Central Division.

“The delusion continues as the Hawks not only don’t suck for a change but actually have an outside chance of returning to the playoffs. And they’re only seven points behind the Wings after 27 games. Projected out over the full season, that means the Hawks will only come up about 21 points short of taking the Central Division by next April. Yup, no doubt about it. That’s exciting news.”
There. Fixed.

First, I think you all are a bit too harsh on the blog - the Hawks have a good shot of taking the division from the Wings this year, better than ever. Second, it’s Hawkey Central, not hawkey challenge.

That’s like saying that, with a bailout, the Big Three have a “better-than-ever” chance of overtaking the foreign car makers. But, hey, we’ll all have a lot of fun watching as the Hacks try to take the division from the Wings this season. Every sports season needs it’s silly diversions.
