Update 8:53pm ET: From TSN—
Forward Chris Neil left money on the table on Wednesday and agreed to a four-year, $8 million contract with the Ottawa Senators.
Neil, who reportedly turned down an offer that would have seen him make $1.7 million per season last week, had three offers from other clubs, but ended up taking less money to stay in Ottawa.

The main reason he wanted to stay was that if he went to the Rangers, he’d only be able to torment Adam Mair of the Sabres 4 times next year instead of the 6 times he gets for being in the same division.
