Clowe Signs with Sharks, 1 Year

San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the team has signed left wing Ryane Clowe to a one-year contract.  Per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Clowe, 25, was limited to 15 games due to a knee injury he suffered in Columbus on Oct. 29. He returned to the line-up with only four games remaining in the regular season and finished with eight points (three goals, five assists).

In the 2008 playoffs, Clowe finished tied for the teams goal scoring lead (five) and his nine points was ranked second on the Sharks.

Over at NHLPA.com they report it’s $1,600,000. And that figure is on the main page at TSN.ca/NHL/. But, shhhhhhh, don’t tell anyone. It’s supposed to be a secret. smile

Haha, I never did figure why they say that while everyone already knows.

Anyways, good signing.  Glad they got this done.
