The Jackets are a long way from making a serious run at the playoffs. In the past, MacLean wouldn’t or couldn’t accept that fact, leading to several ill-fated “quick fixes.” If Howson stays true to his word and focuses on the big picture, the Jackets can begin to move in the right direction.
