from Lightning Strikes,
Washington’s Matt Cooke, who’s hit on Vinny Lecavalier caused the Lightning star’s shoulder injury, was fined Friday $2,500 by the league. There was no suspension. The league decided Cooke’s open-ice hit on Lecavalier, who was not carrying the puck, should have been an interference call.

Good thing they know how to spell the word “whose” in Tampa.

There’s hockey in Tampa?
Why?

Laker,
Sounds like you’re another clueless fan who thinks hockey should only be played in cities that are below freezing six months a year. Buy a clue, won’t cha?
And whether or not you like hockey in Tampa or anywhere south of where you live, Lecavalier is one of the marquee players in this league and to have some forgettable scrub like Cooke rubbing him out for only $2,500 is rediculous. It was interfrence, plain as day, and once again the NHL can’t get it right.

Matt.
Yup clueless hockey fan. That’s me all right.
A response beyond that would be pointless in this case.

Laker,
I think you already made your case in your first comment.

Matt,
One of the great things about KK is that the silly flaming comments are pretty limited. It’s too bad you stooped to that level.
I will not.
My point was more along the lines of Tampa dropping off the map, particularly this year. It wasn’t long ago that the cup was hoisted in Tampa. What the heck happened? You don’t even hear about them anymore… except when they are dropping Richards. Now this year they are absolutely terrible. They will end up 29th, if not 30th.

Laker,
It’s great you won’t stoop to silly flaming comments… although you already did.

I did? Where?

what is this? i didn’t see the hit ... so i don’t have any comment on that ... but it just kind of seems like a totally arbitrary system for applying fines and suspensions. like an infinite number of monkeys at an infinite number of typewriters sit down with an infinite amount of time and come up with them!
