via the Pittsburgh Penguins,
Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby suffered a high ankle sprain during the first period of tonight’s game vs. the Tampa Bay Lightning and will not return. Crosby will be re-evaluated tomorrow by team doctors
Sorry for the delay, I thought Friday evening would be a good time to defrag…

Crosby and Ranger became tangled near the right circle in the Lightning end, with Crosby swiping at the puck as he fell on his behind.
He hit the boards with his right leg and his left leg raised and immediately held his right leg in pain. Crosby had to be helped to the runway by a team trainer.

Good Golly Gee: Does anyone else think the hockey MSM do not have inherent favoritism with “good canadian” players—in particular their “Golden Child”?

Crosby being hurt (and out for a while) is the best thing that could possibly happen to the NHL right now.
It will force the MSM to finally talk about something _else_ for once this season like, oh.... Kovalchuk on pace for 70 Goals? Or maybe that Ovechkin guy in Washington? Or Tim Thomas in BOS, single-handedly carrying a very mediocre team?
Or maybe… MAYBE… Evgeni Malkin can finally get some well-deserved love for being the fantastic player he is?
But really, I for one won’t miss Crosby, and I’ll be very curious to see how the Pens play without him, because the Ewing Theory is possibly in effect here…
But God… can removing Crosby from fans faces for just even a /second/ be a BAD thing?
