from the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review,
Sidney Crosby’s offseason training gets serious Monday when he hits the ice. The only day he plans to take off between then and Sept. 17—the opening of Penguins’ training camp—is Thursday, his 21st birthday.
Yep, Sid’s days as a Kid are numbered. He will celebrate with some junior hockey friends at a barbecue at his home in Nova Scotia….
Q: So what adult beverage does “Sid the Kid” drink?
A: Jack Daniels or Crown Royal.
Q: Of what you have yet to accomplish before your 21st birthday, what stands out most?
A: Not finishing the deal. It’s hard not to think about it. Everybody I see brings it up. I’m reminded by it everywhere. You always see things on TV where guys had the Cup in their hometown. It’s a constant reminder. The memory of losing is not something that just goes away.

Low class whiskey? Have you ever tried Crown Royal? or do you know how highly regarded it is? You’re telling me that you didnt have a drink before you were of age? and by the way, he could legally drink under the age of 21 if you would have read the entire article…just because it is an American Newspaper, use your head a little and realize he’s Canadian and can drink legally there at 19.

I don’t much like Crown Royal, but it’s not really low class.
The bigger issue, in my mind, is why does everyone he meets brings up the time he lost the Stanley Cup?

Don’t really care for Crown Royal neither. I’ll do a JD or a Glenfiddich before Crown Royal.

Personally, I like Crown Royal (made in Canada), but either way, I definitely wouldn’t call it “low-class.” Jack is cheaper than Crown, at least where I am.

As a one-half Irish mutt, I just want to say, for the record, that Whiskey is The Devil.
Vodka, on the other hand…

So does this mean the media is going to stop calling him a stupid nickname like “Sid the Kid?”
Nah, I don’t think so, either.

Way to be a role model! I’m not even 21, but I still drink Jack and (some low class whiskey)!!
The drinking age in Nova Scotia is 19.
And Crown isn’t “low class.” I like it quite a bit more than Jack, that’s for sure.

Man, no wonder Sid normally gives nothing away in his interviews. The second he reveals something as small as his favorite drink, there’s all this criticism of it. And that’s when it’s whiskey, no less, not even some fruity drink. Tough crowd!
