Cory Cross to the Wings from Pittsburgh.
update 3:08pm, Wings give up a 4th and Cross was just on the Fan 590 and said he is at the hospital now, wife just had a baby. He talked with Holland and he will be a depth player. He will be with the Wings on Saturday for the morning skate.

I think he was with Pitt not Edmonton

Yes he was with Pittsburgh. He came over from Edmonton in the Dick Tarnstrom deal.

Well, I guess it’ll be another year lamenting what Holland could have done when our goaltending fails us yet again come playoff time. Manny will get injured, Ozzie will stink, and in desperation they’ll throw Howard in the last game before we’re ousted.

The last couple of years the goaltending hasn’t been the problem for the wings. It’s been the lack of goal scoring.
Nobody wanted to crash the net, yet under the old rules, that’s what you needed to do to win. Fortunately, Babcock seems intent on getting them to crash the net.
I agree that Manny and Ozzie aren’t in the same category as Joseph and Hasek are, but it’s hard to blame the goalie when they were losing playoff games 2-1 or 1-0. If they were scoring 3 or more goals a game and still losing, then yeah, goaltending might be a problem.

I agree with Tim.

Yeah but I’m tired of running into the Giguire’s and Kiprisoffs, goalies who are stealing entire series for their teams while we’re forced to win despite our’s. I really don’t see us getting past the 2nd round this year.
