from the NY Daily News,
Saturday in Philadelphia and Sunday afternoon in Washington, the Rangers get a chance to get turned back around again - and to bank four precious points in the standings before sitting and watching for the following five days. During that time, their closest pursuers in the standings will make up some of the games they have in hand on the Rangers.
“We’re not there yet, but it will be tough watching for five days, yeah,” Rangers coach Tom Renney said after yesterday’s practice in Greenburgh. “We’ve certainly talked about the fact that we’ll be idle while the teams we’re competing with will be playing and, in a lot of cases I’m sure, securing points, too.
“So what we’ve got to do is take these next two games as meaning a whole lot.”
