Czech Greats Need Some Help

Provoked by the poor living standards of some communist-era hockey champions, a group of retired players is calling on Parliament to grant financial aid to see them through their golden years.
“Some past champions now struggle as a result of the communist regime having [routinely] ripped off successful athletes,” said Augustin Bubník, a huge star in the late 1940s who went on to have a successful coaching career.
