Ow-ow-ow.  Taken out by friendly fire.

More adversity for Babcock’s team to work through.

Remind anyone else of Stevie Y’s eye orbital injury?

Wonder if this injury adds more emphasis to the organization’s quest for a scoring winger??  You’d have to think so.

Too bad for Cleary, he was having a solid year posting good numbers and consistently playing with solid intenstiy.

Maybe a little bit, just because it was a ricochet from a shot.  I was pretty relieved to hear it wasn’t an eye - a jaw is a lot easier to fix.

Although since he will be back for the playoffs, I still think that a deal won’t be made if the price asked is too high.  You still hear these high demands in picks, prospects, and young players for players that everyone KNOWS are going to be rentals for a month or two - and everyone also knows (from last year, if no other time) that there are no guarantees of long playoff runs, and I can’t help wonder if everyone spitting out these trade rumors is certified as an official moron.

If you always, always trade away all the youth for veterans, eventually you look like Toronto.  As some point you have to keep somebody and let them develop as a player and give them a chance to help you so you can recoup some of the time you have already invested in them, instead of letting another team benefit long after your own high-ticket bauble is beyond contributing.
