Daniel Ryder Faces Armed Robbery Charges

Daniel Ryder will remain in custody pending a psychiatric fitness assessment at the Waterford Hospital in St. John’s before returning to provincial court in Clarenville Jan. 14 to face charges related to an armed robbery in Bonavista on Tuesday.
Ryder, 22, the younger brother of the Boston Bruins’ hockey star Michael Ryder, turned himself into the RCMP in Bonavista Wednesday after police issued a news release asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect who allegedly committed an armed robbery at the Red Circle Convenience Store in the town.
Ryder is also facing charges of using a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence, using a firearm in the commission of an offence, and theft under $5,000.
