Bad idea? The guy could play anywhere on the top 3 lines and score 20 goals, plus will stand for teammates, thus eliminating the need for McCarty.

Perhaps Holland has a “bigger fish” in mind?

Ah, a team that suits Darcy Farcy’s character.

Yup. A bad idea.
From Sportsnet.ca:
Flaws: Has suspect skating ability, which has prevented him from becoming an all-star at the NHL level. His agitating qualities can at times hurt his own team.

I’m sure the Avs fans will be greatly comforted by that.

Scott Parker is sure going to have to play now. As it stands, he’ll have to protect and answer for 4 pests; Tucker, Lappy, McCloud, and McCormick. Oh, and don’t forget Foote. Scoff if you will, but the team they’ve built will be completely frustrating to play against. Good thing they’re goaltending leaves something to be desired.

Niiiiiice…
The Avsmonkeys will love Darcy…

Probably, but at the end of the day is not significantly improved over the Avs team that went 0-8 versus the Red Wings, who emphasize discipline over reaction.

Anaheim lite?

That’s why Tucker isn’t a Red Wing. If you can’t control your temper, go play for the Avs and take stupid penalties.

Yeah, I fail to see how collecting penalties at a record rate will make Colorado “tougher to play against,” especially in the absence of significant scoring depth (i.e., beyond the top two lines), blue line depth (of any kind), or a starting, let alone HOF-quality, goaltender…
Lambs to the slaughter, methinks…

That sound you can hear coming from D.C. is The Chief crying in his beer. The sound you hear coming from Michigan is the sound of relief. Sorry, Chief, but Tucker was a bad idea from the get-go.
Too bad the pest didn’t stay in the East, though.
