Pavel Datsyuk needed a five minute major for fighting to get the Gordie Howe hat trick. He succeeded when he dropped the gloves against Corey Perry tonight.
update 10:29pm, replaced the original video with one that has better quality.

HA! good call Jen. Pav is just amazing. I’m shocked there weren’t more penalties called in this game. What a disgrace the ducks are.

That was awesome. Perry probably thought he was pulling a Carcillo when he and Datsyuk got paired up but he ended up getting beat up by Lady Byng. Perry is a punk. He’s always reminded me of Scott Farcus from A Christmas Story.

Nice work, Datsyuk. Perry’s not so tough once he drops his gloves and stick and can’t resort to running goalies and kicking guys, eh?

Good call. Datsyuk plyed with a different edge last season (leading some of us to ask if he got tired of Byngs). Maybe he wants to avoid nomination this year..

The other guys have to look at themselves and say: “Man, if Pav, the guy with perhaps the most talent in all the hockey world, can do that, so should I!”
