David Frost Verdict Delivered Today

from Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun,

In what may have been the most poignant and dramatic moment in the sexual exploitation trial of David Frost, defence attorney Marie Henein aggressively and sarcastically attacked the credibility of key witness Kristy Boyer.

“We know there were threesomes with Mr. Frost in Deseronto,” Henein questioned in cross examination, “Because you say so?”

But a shaking and clearly upset Boyer maintained her composure, stared at Henein and whispered cryptically: “Because I know so.”

When everything else is stripped away, this is the essence of the case against Frost, the former hockey coach, who faces four charges of sexual exploitation involving teenaged hockey players.

The verdict in this case will be delivered today by Justice Geoffrey Griffin in a Napanee courtroom.

The phrase “perversion of justice” comes to mind here.  You can’t convict someone for being a sociopath who manipulates his charges to the extent that two men subject to his insanity testify on their coach/mentor/cult leader’s behalf, and that’s a horrible message to send to the parents of junior hockey players who fear that their sons will suffer the same fate when a man like David Frost is on the loose.

Does it make me a horrible person for wishing that when Mike Danton tried to hire a hit man to take out Frost, he actually did get a hit man instead of a cop?

Because I do.

No, it makes you a human person, and one wishing for justice. The prosecution didn’t just drop the ball, they never had it to begin with.

And a guilty man walks free.

This whole story has been a travesty from start to finish. How do charges of sexual exploitation get dropped when there are pictures of an underage boy naked and duct-taped to a bedpost? Even if you believe the crap assertion that he went along with it, as I understand the Canadian Criminal Code—if the victim is underage, he cannot legally consent.  If he cannot consent, that makes it sexual assault! And you have proof!

How does a young promising hockey player suddenly turn around and arrange for someone’s murder? For no reason! It flies in the face of sanity!

The Canadian justice system truly is a joke.
