Depressed In Toronto

from the CP at TSN,

Four games into a new season is certainly no time to panic and while their fans might be climbing up the walls, the Toronto Maple Leafs are doing nothing of the sort.

Still, sharing status with the New York Islanders as the NHL’s only winless teams isn’t doing much for their confidence, and with back-to-back games coming up against the New York Rangers and Colorado Avalanche, a change in atmosphere will definitely do them some good.

“It’s depressing here right now,” head coach Ron Wilson said after Saturday’s 5-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins left his team 0-3-1. “We’ve got to find a way to get some momentum early in the game, that’s what has kind of fallen off. Scoring the first goal and building on that, or at least coming out of the first period 0-0 would be a start in the right direction.”

Yea I have to say I am pretty disappointed so far this season as well.  This will be a good week to judge if the team is willing to compete or not.

Well, I’m sure Ron WIlson and Brian Burke will let us all know which players they are targeting for trades, probably by announcing it in a press conference complete with advice for the targeted players on how to best maximize the likelihood they get dealt.

Kessel can’t possibly score enough goals to make this team win. They stink. They have no goaltender. People in Toronto are morons. Tell you what....we’ll trade you Rask or Thomas for Kessel....we’d get Kessel back AND have your 2 first rounders. ha ha ha ha!!!!!

The Leafs are not really sharing status with the Islanders. The Islanders have a point in all three of their games, have not lost in regulation and are technically .500. Can the Leafs say the same? If the Islanders are doing bad and they are, the Leafs are doing much worse.
