Did Keenan Do The Right Thing?

from Eric Francis at Best of Seven,

Several players were furious but couldn’t say anything for obvious reasons.

Team members watching from the press box also lost their minds.

Miikka Kiprusoff bit his tongue.

Even the San Jose Sharks players were so surprised by the minor league move, they side-stepped the controversy altogether.

One day after Mike Keenan scuttled any chance of a comeback in Game 7 by pulling Miikka Kiprusoff late in the second period of a 4-2 game, the debate rages on over Captain Hook’s panic move.

I’m certainly no Keenan fan, but I am decent at arithmetic.

If San Jose had already scored four, and Calgary ended up with just three, how would leaving Kiprusoff in have mattered?

Also, did I miss Eric’s outrage after Kipper was pulled in Game 3?

I am certainly not going to question Keenan pulling Kipper, as it payed off earlier in the series.  I do, however, have a problem with how he publicly called him out and put him down after the game.  Did he have a right to do so - probably…but to do it in such a public fashion was uncalled for.  Classless move by a classless guy in my opinion!  My stomach turned when they hired this guy last summer, and if he sticks around this will be one less guy in the C of Red!
