Dino On Hossa

from Terry Foster of the Detroit News,
Former Red Wing Dino Ciccarelli didn’t understand all the fuss generated after free-agent forward Marian Hossa turned down multiple-year contracts to sign for one year with the Red Wings. Ciccarelli thought the criticism continuing to ring out at Hossa for turning down $40 million in guaranteed money to be silly….
“When you play this game you want to be successful as a team and you want to be successful individually,” said Ciccarelli, who lives in Shelby Township. “He’s got the best of both worlds. I don’t know who would knock him. Why wouldn’t a player want to come here? How the hell can you knock the guy?”
In the story you will also find a reference to a TSN column, but it is not the TSN we know as hockey fans. This is the 2nd Detroit media reference to the story from the other TSN and I am beginning to wonder if they know the difference? Foster writes Canadian columnists have accused Hossa… but the TSN story he is pointing out is US based and not really known for their hockey coverage.

Yeah, it’s sad. Whenever a Detroit MSM writer gets a good idea (such as asking a guy like Dino about this situation), they find a way to include some stupid or ignorant mistake.

it’s funny that one journalist will base an entire article on another journalist’s article. they’re starting to treat their normal columns as blogs. apparently the basic idea of having your own ideas is dead, just look at Hollywood…

I referenced it, too, but I called it “The Sports Network. Their website is SportsNetwork.com. That’s technically our beloved Canadian TSN’s name, but the two services are as different as night and day. It’s a sort of article server, much like Canada’s The Sports Forecaster, whose player databases are used by the Canwest Newspapers (TO Star, Faceoff.com, Montreal Gazette, etc.), Sportsnet, TSN, and The Hockey News.

Being as Foster is a columnist and not specifically a “Hockey Guy” I doubt he knows the difference or particularly cares.
