DiPietro Feeling Good

from Mark Hermann of On the Islanders Beat,

DiPietro said he felt good, having been the one in net when the Islanders did all their full-team drills at one end of the ice (Joey MacDonald worked on his own with a coach at the other end). Put it this way, if DiPietro does not play against the Lightning tomorrow night, he will play soon.

He added that he just couldn’t describe how anxious he has been to get in a game, and that the hardest part is balancing the knowledge that there is a lot of season left with his desire to get his season started. But he sees the reasoning in making sure that once he gets in there, he can stay in there.

It’ll be nice to give Joey MacDonald a break.
He faced 90 shots in the last 3 games, and
was stuck for 7 goals Monday (11 PP ?), when they refused
to put DiPietro in to relieve him.  That’s a lot of
pressure on the ex-wing.
