DiPietro Getting Closer To Return

While the full group will not be on the ice at IceWorks in Syosset tomorrow—since the Islanders will arrive in New York late after tonight’s game—DiPietro’s participation tomorrow will be viewed as the next significant step in his rehabilitation.
“Everything has gone according to plan,” Gordon said before Monday’s game against Toronto. “This isn’t anything unexpected. We’d be disappointed if he wasn’t on the ice soon.”...
After DiPietro practices with the team, he will eventually head to Bridgeport for a conditioning stint, during which he’ll likely play 2-5 games before making his 2009-2010 debut.
