You can all thank me.  I told Directv last week I was canceling and going to Fios if they didn’t have Versus by playoffs.  [It was a bluff]

Station is live now on Directv.  But it did disappear from my favorites so I did have to add it again.

Good, now I don’t have to go to a friend’s house for the playoffs.

Will this have any effect on the delivery of HD games on CI, or is that another issue?  I know MSG and Comcast seem to have non-HD deals with CI…

Sorry WingMan, that is a different issue and still exists.

Oh thank goodness. I had already told one of my friend’s I’d be camping out at his house for two months during the playoffs. He’s probably as relieved as I am!

Let me take back my original comment. I still don’t get Versus because I went to the less expensive Choice package this year. Of the channels I don’t get 99.9% I would never watch and won’t switch for Versus. I have Center Ice, I don’t need Versus, I have accepted the fact that I wouldn’t get Versus for the playoffs and will save the money. I may change my mind when the playoffs start but for now screw Versus.

The timing of this is not coincidental.  The UFC is having their debut on Versus this month and being the fastest growing sport in the world (based upon new professional license applications worldwide), it would be terrible PR for both DirectTV and Versus for the UFC to be shut out.

It shows that the NHL will take a backseat to yet another sport for dominance in America.  Thanks Gary.  Ass.  Your marketing strategies are woefully inadequate.
