Both Don and Ron MacLean said the head shot proposal needs to be changed now, not next year.

The Cooke segment starts at the 2:00 minute mark.

Gee maybe if the refs did call an match penalty on this kinda hits you won’t need a rule.

Um, that is why we need the rule - so they can call a penalty for this type of hit!  Though like you, I wish more common sense was used - but I guess if something is not backed up by the rule book it is open to interpretation…

Cooke is a goon no doubt, but you could make a segment just like this on a quarter of the guys in the NHL…

how about we call every hit an blow to head and cry about it. Gee maybe if the refs did call an match penalty on this kinda hits you won’t need a rule.

in the olympics they penalized hits to the head.  not a single call was protested.

I say the player who delivers the hit to the head in a cheap manner such as Cooke, is suspended until the player injured on the play is back in game shape. Look at David Booth, missed 46 games. Think Mike Richards 46 game suspension would have ended this whole hit the head saga? But with the NHL protecting their Ovechkin’s and Crosby’s(who are not innocent when it comes to the odd dirty hit or slew foot) this rule would never go into effect just in case one of their soother suckers is faced with the tough rule. Its time to end this shit, imagine if Gretzsky’s career was cut short by a hit to the head? It wasn’t an issue then, but it is now…and many good young hockey players careers are cut short or are much more dim thanks to a cheap hit by a player who will never play any more than 6 minutes a night for the rest of his career.

Ovechkin’s hit to the head of Jagr went un-penalized.

bahaha Nathan, youre a moron. that was no hit to the head. plus it was face to face. it wasnt some goddamn blind attack. and he didnt use any of his body as a “Weapon”. if you seriously think that was a deliberate hit to the head on purpose, you need to stop watching hockey, baby boy.

second, everything Cherry said about Cooke was dead on. glad he got in that little bitches face in the hall.

cant wait until someone annihilates him. it’ll be well deserved.
