On Coach’s Corner, Don talked about the first period Pens/Leafs, touched on the Pat Quinn fine, Flames defensive system, had a few words for Kris Letang and a few other topics.

He’s a nutjob. What Hartnell did is completely indefensible. Everyone knows he bit him. Face washing a player during a fight, especially when you don’t initiate the fight, is accepted in the NHL. Biting players’ fingers is not.
Someone tell Don it’s not the 70’s anymore. The rules aren’t there for just shits and giggles.

LGP8771, how do you feel about a player who donkey punches a player in the back of the head and then goes for a shot to the groin repeatedly? Just curious.

I believe Cherry’s main point was what was his finger doing in another player’s mouth? Stick your finger into my mouth and you’ll be lucky if it’s still in one piece afterwards.

Except for blaming Letang for getting his own finger bitten by Hartnell, this is one of the more cogent Coach’s Corner segments I’ve seen out of Cherry. I mean, pretending he doesn’t know how to pronounce Staubitz’s name is right up his alley, but he made a bunch of good points.
