Well, he got two things right. One, Ozzie is a “calm” guy and, two, someone at the end of the game was “stupid”...but it wasn’t Ozzie.
If Mr. Suit had watched the game, he’d know why Ozzie stuck his stick out. It was to keep Ribeiro from running Lids with two seconds left. But, then, I’m sure that’s exactly what The Madras King would have loved to see happen.
And we’ll just see who it is that that play “fires up” for Game 3. I’ve got a feeling Mr. Ribeiro is going to have an open-ice “meeting” with a certain “soft European” in white tonight.
This should be fun!

I always thought Cherry was full of crap, now I know it. Philly is lucky they didn’t lose by more. He must’ve been the one reviewing the “No-goal” call on Crosby. I guess he meant all the breaks but that one.
And if anyone should be suspended in the West it’s Osgood, and don’t tell me I’m biased cus I’ve been rooting for the Wings to come out of the west all year. I’ve always liked the guy but that was bush league.

Steve:
So Osgood should be suspended because he tried to sell it? Even though Ribiero slashed him, which is against the rules? By that estimation, nearly every player in the league should be suspended, because by and large players sell calls. (However, there was also a shot of a broken stick on the ice after the incident, so maybe Ribiero hit Osgood harder than people think.)
If, on the other hand, you’re referring to the so-called “butt-end” that Osgood gave Ribiero, Osgood was merely trying to slow Ribiero down, and gave the guy plenty of time to move around his stick. Ribiero chose to stay the course. If that’s considered a butt-end, that has got to be the weakest butt-end I’ve ever seen.
Bottom-line, neither player warranted suspension, and fines were handed down. I’d say the right call was made.
