Doug MacLean Takes On Advisor Role For Balsillie

If Canadian billionaire Jim Balsillie is successful in his bid to purchase the Phoenix Coyotes through bankruptcy court, it appears he is getting ready to hit the ice running.
Sportsnet has learned Balsillie will soon name former Columbus Blue Jackets president and current Roger Sportsnet panellist Doug MacLean an advisor to Balsillie’s company PSE.
MacLean, who brings 22 years of hockey experience to Balsillie’s team, is expected to help bridge the gap between getting the Coyotes out of the courts and on to Hamilton ice in the event Balsillie lands the team.
