Draft May Be Costly

from Alex Hebert of the Ottawa Sun,
A quick search on craigslist.com, kijiji.ca, ebay and other e-commerce sites yielded multiple postings of people selling pairs of tickets for upwards of $125.
Whether fans will actually pay that much remains to be seen but a pair of tickets on ebay already had a bidder willing to drop $51 on them with 11 hours left in the auction.
This revelation puzzled Senators spokesman Phil Legault, who told me that the event was not yet at capacity and there were still many Entry Draft passes being given away for free.

Just some clarification on this - the free tickets for the first day (Friday) were gone by noon of the day they were available.
Additionally, season ticket holders (or those who’ve purchased from them) get priority seating.
There are tickets for the second day, but obviously those are only for rounds 2-7 and so don’t have the same cachet.

I still would not pay $$$ to watch a draft. I don’t care what sport it is. It’s a MADE FOR TV event.....

I went to the Draft in Boston in 2000 or so....It was FREE! How can anyone pay money for this? Watch it on TV. It’s 100 times better with all the analysis versus being there and waiting for somebody to get picked. Canadian can’t be that stupid..can they?
