from the Detroit News,
Kris Draper left practice early Tuesday with a tight groin and definitely will miss Wednesday’s game in Chicago, and likely the final two games of the regular season, as well.
“I can’t imagine him playing until the playoffs,” coach Mike Babcock said.

Draper is a big loss. When he is on the ice he controls the game… in the other end. Furthermore, he is the Wings’ best face off man.

Drapes and Malts are back in sync. Hopefully this little break will help keep him healthy for the run. The “power kill” is back on track and they are an important part of the core. Grinding it out is what they do, and those two are very good at it. They are smart, tough, and I love the way Malts gets under the skin of anyone he plays against. And of course, the all important faceoff.

Thank god. At least this team is letting someone rest. Is the Presidents’ Trophy really worth injury to one of our key players?
