Ducks’ Brad May Facing Possible Suspension

From the LA Times,

No one in the Ducks’ dressing room said, or at least was willing to say, if there was a clear view of Brad May’s punch to Wild defenseman Kim Johnsson late in the third period of Game 3 Tuesday that knocked Johnsson out of Game 4.
May drew a match penalty for intent to injure and could face a suspension by the league. Johnsson, who crumpled to the ice before leaving under his own power, suffered a head injury, according to Wild officials.

The May hit was completely missed by the local Orange County camera coverage. Apparently it was shown repeatedly on the Minnesota coverage.

Yes in fact on the Anaheim coverage they said that Johnsson ‘turtled’ when he saw May coming after him.  I actually never even saw the hit.

While I agree may deserves a suspension, why has zero attention been payed to Boogaard’s cheapshots throughout the series, specifically the knees he’s been throwing?

He gave Beauchemin and knee on knee in game one, gave Huskings a scary knee in game two, and in game four he threw a knee at Scott Niedermayer, who thank god jumped out of the way.

The Ducks got all the calls the other night and all series. Also the so called “cheapshots” Boogaard is getting in will be nothing compared to who he hunts down tonight. I hope its not a top Anaheim player, but since Kim Johnsson leads the Wild in minutes and is our best defensemen, I wouldn’t be surprised if its a top-end player. I also can’t wait to see the Ducks “turtle” all night long whenever Boogaard comes around. Go Wild!
