They can have him.  And Mrs. Pronger, too.

Yikes.

As a Pens fan I hate to see this!!! I don’t think there’s a player on the NHL that wants to see that headhunting DB 6 times a season plus playoffs.

I guess this means the Jay-bo to the Flyers isn’t happening.

i guess Flyers are breaking up the old city crew and making Fratboy to start growing up.

He’s a cheap-shotting, head-hunting SOB - but Pronger is also a tremendous talent and a very, very good defenseman.  Big improvement for the Flyers.

wow what a ripoff. Holmgren is a retard.  2 first round picks and sbisa,(first pick last year) for Pronger, a aging veteran with dimenishing value.

Good tip - and attention, Eastern conference!  Unless physics work differently on that side of the continent, his elbows sometimes display a magnetic attraction for opponents’ heads.

Sorta fits right into the penalty box culture the Flyers have had the past couple of seasons. I think its a good move by the ducks. Big men usually break down fast at the end of their career. Good to see him go to the east though.

I won’t miss seeing his ugly mug (or his elbows) against the Sharks six times a season, that’s for sure.

According to NHL numbers, Pronger only has one year left on his deal, so the Flyers essentially gave up two #1 picks and a quality forward for an aging defenseman (who is still very good) who they may not be able to re-sign in a year due to cap constraints.  They didn’t even clear any space against the cap with this trade, so I don’t get it.  Seems like it would have been better to dump the salary for draft picks and go after Bouwmeester, who you might be able to sign for multiple years and who is only coming into his prime.  Does this also mean Briere’s getting traded for draft picks?

That IS a lot to give up for Pronger.  The players I understand, especially Lupul as he wasn’t very good anywhere but Anaheim, but the two picks?  Strange.

YES! Anaheim might be a little less hated on now. Pronger was important for our cup run, but I think the additions of Wisniewski and Whitney will make up for that.

I’m ecstatic to have Lupul back, now if only he can get back to his dominant form he has displayed before.

Good. That mean SOB gets to head hunt sheep lovers Malkin and Crosby for the next year. Should be fun watching them out with more injuries next season.

Flyers did this to bring what fratboy wasn’t bringing LEADERSHIP.this deal always kimmo toy Cindy and Chris can give Malkin a taste of his own medicine. Sisba is years away from making a impact. Flyers are doing this to win now

Holmgren is a moron to give up that much for Pronger. Big, slow, stupid. That’s a perfect fit for the Flyers, though.

Lupul’s contract was a bit oversized, though.  Maybe the draft picks were partially to pay off Anaheim for taking him off their hands for the next few years.

Head hunting season begins in October. To echo previous sentiments, I’m glad he’s out of the Western Conference. (Mrs. Pronger must be OK with living in the Philly area.)

Big, slow, stupid.

I’ve hated Pronger since his St. Louis days, but that doesn’t prevent me from acknowledging he’s a talented defenseman who’s good at clearing the crease. A talented douchebag with flying elbows.

I’m not convinced he’ll rack up the penalties, even with the Flyers. He wasn’t penalized very much in the playoffs. And the league considers him a name player so I wouldn’t count on suspensions.
