ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled center Mark Bell from the Syracuse Crunch, Anaheim’s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Bell, 31 (8/5/80), appeared in 32 contests with the Crunch in 2011-12, scoring 5-8=13 points with 33 penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-4, 206-pound center scored a season-high two goals (2-0=2) on Oct. 26 at Lake Erie in a 7-0 Crunch shutout. In addition, Bell had a season-high three-game point streak from Oct. 29-Nov. 6 (2-4=6), including a season-high three-point game (1-2=3) on Nov. 5 vs. Richmond.
Signed by Anaheim as a free agent on July 20, 2011, Bell has played seven NHL seasons with Chicago (2000-06), San Jose (2006-07) and Toronto (2007-08), collecting 87-95=182 points with 597 PIM in 445 career games. He last appeared in the NHL with Toronto in 2007-08, scoring 4-6=10 points with 60 PIM in 35 games. Bell played 80 games-or-more in four consecutive seasons from 2001-06, including a full 82-game schedule in three straight NHL campaigns. Bell has also appeared in nine career Stanley Cup Playoff games with Chicago (2002) and San Jose (2007), going scoreless with 10 PIM.

Senators fans (and, presumably, the Sens themselves) will recall Bell’s hit on Daniel Alfredsson in 2008.
