Atlanta has one of the lowest pay rolls in the league, with over $18 mill in cap space.
Probaby getting rid of a useless player.

I can’t see Eager (not a high quality player) coming out of a 5th rounder (outside of a Ken Holland draft)

I wouldn’t be surprised if SJS trades him to the DuhUcks for yet another fifth round pick…

Word is, he’s been a problem in the locker room, and he wasn’t well liked by the players.
Something had to be done after that suspension. Many of us who follow Atlanta expected Eager to either be traded or waived by this time, because of what he did and the end result.
As sure as the sun comes up, Eager got traded. Atlanta gets a draft pick that will likely be moved to help get a stretch run player, and San Jose can now send back some of their farm team. Both teams win, here.
