Early Game Today & Some Teams Not Televised

Edmonton at Carolina starts off our hockey viewing day at 3pm ET.

I have received numerous emails regarding the three games that will not be televised tonight and feel free to express your thoughts in the comments.

Below is the full NHL Schedule for today…

Phoenix, Tampa, Nashville and Florida, no TV is no surprise. Minnesota not televising a game back to “the state of hockey” is very surprising. Is there a conflict with the Timberwolves or U of Minnesota or something tonight ?

College football still rules in the South. Fox Sports has college football today and tonight. End of story. Don’t be so surprised.

I will always be disappointed with the handling of things, considering that I keep having to mention how much I hate not seeing all 82 Sens games, and not being able to catch most of them without watching half a dozen different channels (and paying through the roof to collect them all).

We missed a home game with the Pens, and now we miss seeing Stamkos, Lecavalier, and the first game for our swapped D-men? Argh.

I know there may be conflicts but why can’t they use overflow channels? The Devils and Islanders are on the same channel and if they play at the same time they use an overflow channel. It’s been this way for 20 years so it’s not exactly new technology and both teams have all 82 games boadcasted. Likewise, when there is a conflict between the Wizards and Caps in DC one of the teams goes to an overflow channel. The only one I can understand not being broadcast is Ottawa because of the CBC blackout, they rest of the telecast should use overflow channels if there is a conflict.

I had thought they didn’t air the games on TV because they wanted to increase ticket sales.

The teams should just be allowed to stream their games online.
