KOMISAREK IS KOMIS-A-WRECK:
Through six games, high-priced newcomer (five years at $4.5 million per season) Mike Komisarek has ZERO points for the Leafs, who are winless in those six games. Maybe that’s because he’s already spent 23 minutes in the penalty box! When he’s on the ice, Komisarek has a minus-4 rating, and even put a puck in his own net. This is not what the Leafs had in mind when they named him alternate captain.
BYE-BYE TO BRENDAN:
It sure looked as if Brendan Shanahan was guaranteed a slot on the Devils. He was in good shape, and had a good camp. Then – POOF! Just like that – he was unloaded. Now, it looks like his NHL playing career is over.It wouldn’t surprise me if he winds up working for Gary Bettman.
