Emery Makes It Rain Money

Urban definition of Making it Rain- When you have a wad of cash and throw it in the air at a club.

via the Las Vegas Sun,

Former (news must travel slow in Vegas) NHL goalie Ray Emery didn’t let the downed economy or his faltering career stop him from making it rain, either, when he visited the Bellagio in May. The one-time star goaltender laid down $1,000 for the stunt, despite the fact that he doesn’t cash the same sort of paychecks he once did, and unleashed a blitz of dollar bills upon clubgoers at The Bank.

Ray, the next time you get an urge to literally throw money away, go find a homeless shelter and do something positve.

I still don’t consider the flyers an nhl team (more or less football on ice) so the article is obviously correct wink

Well no, he doesn’t, but I think he DID make $2M tax free last year, PLUS he has his buyout money and he’s got a mil and a half incoming this year, so he’s not exactly hurting…

It’s his money, why does he have to spend it the way you want him to?

If he isn’t breaking any laws, and no one is getting hurt (ala Pac Man Jones), and Emery isn’t violating any team or league policy, the problem here is what, exactly ? I know there were rumours of substance abuse from his Ottawa days but what, if anything was ever proved or confirmed ?
