There’s whining in every sport; it’s part of what you get when there’s involved fans.
I don’t like whining much myself, but I’m not about to condemn anyone for it. It’s what happens when people care about a team and things don’t go their way.
Might as well tell them not to care.

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

Yesterday I tuned in to see the Rangers-Pens game and was disappointed that so much talk was about the diving, officiating etc. Olcyk and McGuire actually going out of their way to voice their opinions that things weren’t dives...Here was such a good opportunity for the league, its brightest new stars vs. its older stars and biggest market, and the casual fan or channel surfer would think our game was filled with a bunch of soccer players grabbing their shins acting as if they were shot with a cannon. The NHL is filled with the toughest, hardest working players, sacrificing themselves, and often putting their futures at risk as they play through injuries for the cup, and we’re complaining constantly. Of course, the players are doing a bit too much of it too. Perhaps Mr. Bettman should stop worrying so much about octopi and discuss with the teams and NHLPA how much of a disservice their whining is to the league and its players.
