“Private union matters should remain in the locker room and PA offices. Internal disagreements should not be waged through the press.
“Some members of the media may have conflicting interests, leading to biased or inaccurate reporting.”
-Ken Baumgartner who resigned from his advisory board position this weekend. More from Baumgartner by Tim Wharnsby of CBC.

Kukla’s Korner is always a free service for readers, but it costs some money to maintain. If you’re ever in a position to donate a few dollars to help out, we’d be very appreciative.

That’s never going to change. As long as the NHLPA doesn’t impose a gag order with legally enforceable penalties upon those who spill the beans, a player’s email will be CC’ed to an agent, the agent will forward that to the media, and the league sycophants, those with “sources” to please in the NHL’s front office, and even the most open and independently-minded journalists will receive their information from hearsay and leaks.
The big problem is that the players seem to receive the same treatment.
