Booth has struggled this season, but watching the camp and also watching David Booth I could argue that he is the best pure “sniper” the Americans have and his slow start is a testament to this. Snipers are by their nature streaky players. Right now he is ice cold, but if Booth gets hot at the right time you would probably want him on your top unit. Booth is the Joey Mullen of this group.

-Dwayne (Eklund) in his Team USA outlook today.  Dwayne has David Booth on the taxi-squad (there isn’t one) and by his remarks, is oblivious to the fact that Booth has been out with a concussion since October 28th.

Not the first time Dwayne has showed his lack of hockey knowledge and won’t be the last.

added 8:02pm, Craig Custance of the Sporting News spoke with Booth recently.  You have to feel for the guy and let’s hope the NHL does something about the hits to the head.

added 11/20/09 7:36am, Well what do you know, Dwayne changed his post without mentioning any correction.  This folks, is how he deceives people…

Players are normally ice-cold with a concussion.  I can only laugh at such obliviousness.

Eklund has been known for the integrity of his trade predictions, now he’s known for his analysis on why some players aren’t performing up to par.

Thanks for providing us someone to laugh at, not with, Eklund.

Not only is this absolutely retarded, but I’m pretty sure Zach Parise and Phil Kessel are American snipers. How he can call Booth a better scorer than those two is just foolish.

I thought Dwayne was a Flyers fan. Shouldn’t he know that one of his own guys clocked Booth?

he is. he didnt get access into flyers until timmay p got him a press pass.

the league has done something about the blows to hit, “NHL plans on making soft cap shoulder pads mandatory next season. ” no more missle shoulder pads. the missle shoulder pads are main reason why players are getting concussion from blind hits.

as milbury correctly said there is rules in the book to protect the players and its up to colly to do his job or find someone else who would do it.

yawn…  yet another petty blow at eklund who is simply a self proclaimed entertainer. i definitely don’t read his site for knowledge and i come here daily. but seriously, the spite towards the guy really comes off as petty and lacking self esteem in my book.

your hatred for him is well documented. duly noted… move on

perfection, of course you have the right to express your opinion, but Dwayne told me directly he is has a degree in Journalism for McGill University, thereby making him a journalist.

listen, i’m not trying to be confrontational paul, but there of plenty of people with journalism degrees who aren’t journalists and plenty of journalists who don’t have degrees in journalism… and i’m sure you know this.

i’m not here to defend this guy, frankly i don’t care what he does. i’ve just seen him explicitly refer to himself as an entertainer on multiple occasions. i don’t find his site very useful but think it’s good for hockey none the less. he’s trying to make the game into a big deal and appeal to casual or non fans who are entertained by things like his dog picking playoff winners. who cares? those really aren’t the same people you try to appeal to. so, what’s the big deal?

i’ve read and understand what yours and other “real” blogger’s issues are with him, but it just seems juvenile to constantly pick at the guy over and over about the same stupid stuff.

but, whatever, as you say, it’s just my opinon.

here’s story about ek, he started his gig on a flyers message board inwhich no one on that board took him seriously, he’s wrote stuff on the board that the lockout in 05 or 06 was over and scott neidermayer was signing with flyers and then started hockeybuzz.com.

So it’s true that Eklund completely makes crap up.  It’s pretty obvious that David Booth is not the best sniper from the USA.  No, that title belongs to either Parise or Kessel, and if you watch hockey, you’d know that.  So I wonder why Eklund picked hockey as his imaginary favourite sport?

Um, there’s another flagrant lie you can add to the list.  Speaking as an employee of McGill University I can assure you that we do not offer a degree in journalism, nor do we have a journalism program of any nature.

Yep, dwgs, I found that out, maybe he should change his story, how about Northwestern?  Fine Journalism School there!
