from Snapshots at Mlive,

Sport-Express’s Igor Larin says that the New Jersey Devils have offered Sergei Fedorov a contract…

On the Mats Sundin front, Aftonbladet’s Tomas Ros says that Sundin would prefer to stay in the Eastern Conference, though he’s seriously considering the Vancouver Canucks’ 2-year, $20 million contract offer, and Sundin’s Swedish representative, Claes Elefak, told Expressen’s Gunnar Nordstrom that Sundin’s merely “considering” every offer:

Devils have about $2M left under the cap, and probably will be making a trade for a defenseman.  I don’t see how Fedorov fits in Jersey, salary-wise.

It’s Igor Larin.  You’ve got to take what he says with a 50-lb. bag of rock salt.  He and Sergei’s dad talk once every week or two during the...um, I guess we’ll call it the Continental Hockey League Season, and they spew anti-NHL vitriol, claiming that every Russian player who isn’t tearing up scoresheets on a regular basis is clearly misunderstood and discriminated against because he’s Russian, and you know those Americans and what they think about Russian hockey players…

I don’t understand why Washington didn’t hold on to him...he put up some points for them in the playoffs and seemed to fit in nicely with AO and Semin.  The guy still has game and he is still a killer on the power play.

Igor Larin is Russian “Douche Canoe”. This bum’s head is full of shit. I have no idea why “Sport-Express” is still holding him as an observer.

Igor Larin is Russian “Douche Canoe”.

And the phenomenon goes international!

What is it about hockey writers?  They seem more frequently bad than the writers for other sports.

That was an error in Malik’s blog:

It says: As it became known to the correspondent “SE”, the best bombardir a Russian national team in Evroture-2007/08 Feodor Fedorov has signed the contract from “New Jersey”.
Как стало известно корреспонденту “СЭ”, лучший бомбардир сборной России в Евротуре-2007/08 Федор Федоров подписал контракт с “Нью-Джерси”.

It is about Fedor Fedorov, not Sergei, and Fedor allegedly signed the contract with New Jersey.

It would figure...Oy.  Thanks, PG.  My apologies.
