Darren Dreger of TSN reporting Sergei Fedorov to the Capitals… Confirmed.
Update 1:17pm ET: More from TSN
Update1:33pm ET: Sportsnet SMS updates are reporting that the trade exchange was Fedorov for Teddy Ruth.

Oh, definitely, they’ll be fun to watch and it’ll be pretty cool to see the Caps as buyers this time around.

I’m good. I’m a little surprised to see the Caps pick up a rental; but when you consider the fact that I can’t even find Ted Ruth in the hockeydb, I guess they didn’t give up too much!

Ah I think this move is similar to Philly picking up Biron last year - could be a rental, but if he works out, I could see Fedorov signing to stay in Washington.

Well my son who thinks Ovie is God will be happy….me a die hard Wings fan not much so…really wanted 91 back 10 years to the day from when he signed his big contract with the Wings ( my daughter was born that day..wanted to call her Sergei but wife said no…)

He’s a UFA after this season, so he can still sign with Detroit in the off-season.
