from the Columbus Dispatch,
The league is rife with similar multi-taskers. The New Jersey Devils’ David Clarkson, 23, who ranks third with 14 fights, participated last weekend in the NHL All-Star Game’s YoungStars competition. The New York Rangers’ Colton Orr is a legitimate heavyweight but plays on a shutdown checking line.
Perhaps no example is more vivid to Blue Jackets fans than Nashville’s Jordin Tootoo. In some ways, Tootoo is a lowercase Boll, a fire starter who drives opponents to distraction.
“These are guys who can compete between the whistles and not just after them,” Blue Jackets coach Ken Hitchcock said. “You physically intimidate opponents more through hitting than fighting.”
