from Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press,
The Red Wings have lost center Valtteri Filppula for 6-8 weeks with a broken right wrist.
Filppula was hurt in the second period of Thursday’s 6-5 shootout loss at Edmonton when he was hit by Gilbert Brule.
“I feel terrible, but nothing I can do now,” Filppula said.
“It’s not good,” Henrik Zetterberg added. “It’s tough to lose a player and especially Fil, he plays a lot of minutes and plays in all situations, so it’s a tough break for us.”
General manager Ken Holland said the team would not be recalling anyone from the minors, as they have enough forwards to go around.

Well, as an Avs fan I can say that I feel their pain.
Sketchy goaltending and an ever growing injury list.
The Wings are turning into the Avs of two years ago…

What else can possibly go wrong?
I think we need to offer up a sacrifice…
Any virgins out there who want to volunteer?

Well, on the bright side Datsyuk and Zetterberg are going to have a shot at the Hart and Art Ross trophies. Now that our second line is on LTIR they’re going to need to play Crosby/Ovechkin minutes every game.
