from George Richards of the Miami Herald,
When asked which player he was most excited about signing this summer, Panthers general manager Dale Tallon’s eyes lit up as he pointed across the room.
“Tomas Fleischmann,” Tallon said with a smile, “is going to be something special.”
Tallon is genuinely excited about the offensive talents that Fleischmann brings to a Panthers team that has struggled to score the past few seasons.
Fleischmann signed a four-year deal with the Panthers on July 1, making the 27-year-old left wing the highest paid forward on the Panthers. Fleischmann will average $4.5 million in each of the next four seasons; David Booth gets $4.25 million over the same span. Fleischman said the big payday doesn’t put any more pressure on him than he puts upon himself….
“I want to win every game. We have new players and some great scorers. This is going to be good, turning this ship around and get to the playoffs. Each guy here has been on winning teams, we all know how to win. You need that to win the Stanley Cup. That’s what we’re aiming for down here.”
