After the Flyers’ fight-filled 2-0 loss to the Rangers at the Wachovia Center, Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren announced that defenseman Braydon Coburn was resting in Temple University Hospital after tearing a muscle in his buttocks.
Coburn, the only Flyers defenseman to play in every game this season, had what Flyers athletic trainer Jim McCrossin described as a fascia release, where the torn muscle is released to promote healing.
