Need to be under the cap by opening day, I believe - until then they are okay to go over by (I believe) 10%.
But it does seem pretty crazy to spend money you know you won’t have in a few months.

So that gives them Niitymaki, Emery, and now Biron. Or is Niitymaki gone?

Niitymaki is UFA. he’s worthless with a bad hip

Nittymaki is gone. It’s Emery and Boucher in Philly this year. Hilarious.

Philadelphia is under the cap by close to $3 million after the Boucher signing. Rathje at $3.5M will spend the year in minors or injured reserve, which gives them room.
Nittymaki seems to be available.

i wouldnt be surprised if they signed a fourth line center man by the end of day or tomorrow.
watch out for carle. flyers are shopping him for anything to free up 3.6 million.

A lot of people, not just here on this post, don’t seem to realize that both Biron and Nittymaki are UFAs. Emery and Boucher are the Flyers new goaltending tandem.
