Flyers Talk

via Chuck Gormley of Flyer Files at the Courier Post,

With Wednesday’s free agency period looming, the Flyers and Mike Knuble continue contract talks today.

The Flyers are believed to be offering an incentive-based one-year dea with a base salary in the $1 million range. Knuble likely is seeking a two-year agreement with a higher base salary, probably in the $2 million range.

Look for the Flyers to land a goalie on Wednesday, perhaps veteran Brian Boucher or Scott Clemmenson or Ty Conklin and wait until later to sign a veteran free-agent center for the NHL minimum.

It’s gotta be Conklin.

Whoever gets Conklin is getting a great goalie.

As for reports of Knuble at 1 million a year for a 1 year deal, HAHAHAHA.  No way.

Players are not taking discounts like that to play in Philly.

PLEASE get Knuble resigned, even if it means giving him two years. He’s still productive on the PP.

I will laugh my head clean off if the Flyers bring back Boucher.  A tandem of Boucher and Emery might make Philly explode.

Emery, Niittymaki, and Biron.  I don’t see how Conklin will fit in the Flyers’ plans.

Seriously, I hope for that.  He’s a good goaltender - I’d like to see him get a chance to compete for a starting job.  He deserves that opportunity.
