I was enjoying this game in HD until WCAU-DT in Philadelphia decided to switch to the SD feed in order to show an annoying banner ad for Flyers tickers early in the third period. They have not yet switched back to the HD feed.

As I commented on another post about the game:

I am currently home in Charleston, SC for Spring Break.  My favorite team (PIT) is playing one of the most exciting teams to watch in the league (WAS) on national television, but there is a telethon on our local NBC station and they will not be showing the game.  Don’t get me wrong, I love children and all, but I am pretty pissed.  I wouldn’t be so upset if it was the typical Rangers vs. Bruins game, but this is Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and the Penguins vs. freaking Alex Ovechkin and the Caps!!!! Ahhhh!  Anywhere I can watch it online?

Later:
I found the Crosby and Ovechkin cams on NBC’s site.  Better than nothing…

WCAU finally switched back to the HD feed with 1:55 remaining in the third.

I was at the game, and I don’t think I have ever heard the visiting fans as loud as they were when Backstrom scored the OG. I say that having been to numerous Penguins, Flyers, Rangers, Bruins, Devils, Isles, etc. games at Verizon Center over the years. At least I’ll be saving money on playoff tix, since the Caps won’t make it.
